Moms, Dads, and Grads.....

Who are we kidding, we think everyday is a great day for wine, and if you look hard enough there is probablly something ( or someone) worth toasting right in front of you...

Bring your mom to Trione on Sunday, May 10th for a special treat. What mom doesn't love chocolate and wine? All moms receive a complimentary taste of our award winning Red Wine paired with locally handmade coffee toffee.

Our laboratory is in the final stages of completion. We recently hired Maureen Qualia as our enologist and lab manager. Like our winemaker Scot, she is a Fresno State graduate, go Bulldogs! Maureen received her master’s in 2008 and her thesis has been nominated for an Outstanding Thesis Award! The official title is: "The Evolution of Phenolic Compounds in a Red Wine During Post-Fermentation Maturation: Correlation with Bitterness and Astringency", or in layman terms, how tannins affect the taste of wine. Congratulations Maureen!

Toast a recent graduate with a casual open house. Serve local Salumi, we're a big fan of Diavola's in Geyserville, local cheeses and a few bottles of our 2006 Sauvignon Blanc. Currently on sale for $16, it is a great alternative to champagne and is the ultimate refresher on hot summer days.

Or to commemorate a commencement, give a bottle of our 2005 Block 21 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. This classic Alexander Valley Cab is rich with mushroom and eucalyptus. It spent 24 months in French oak barrels and is a great wine to start a collection.

Not familiar with Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon? Join 25 wineries throughout the valley in a celebration of this spicy, forest fruit driven wine on June 6-7.

This year’s event explores Alexander Valley Through The Decades. In honor of the Old Stone Building ,ca. 1908, we will celebrate the turn of the century and party like it's 1900! Besides our excellent wines, barrel samples and updated food favorite from that era ( syrah-hot fudge sundaes anyone?), check out our original Model T Fords and a barbershop quartet! Tickets are $65 for the weekend and available at http://www.alexandervalley.org/ .

Looking for a gift for Father's Day? Treat your dad to a Cabernet Seminar hosted in the Stone Building. On Friday, June 5th, Winemaker Scot and other fellow winemakers with take you on a sensory tour of Alexander Valley. From South to North, over the mountains, through the bench lands and over the river, you'll sample 10 single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons from small production wineries. Tickets are limited and available at alexandervalley.org
